How We Choose The Best Sustainable Body Washes
What is an eco-friendly soap or body wash?
We used our ethical and sustainable beauty guidelines to see which brands have a squeaky clean slate.
- Non-toxic: Unfortunately, ingredients used in the beauty industry are anything but beautiful. The harmful chemicals are often disastrous for our skin, and our planet’s skin (surface). Which is why we look for products that contain high-quality organic ingredients and essential oils, instead of synthetic fragrances.
- Palm oil-free: Palm oils are commonly used as surfactants in cleaning products. We understand they may not be avoidable, but we’d like them to at least be certified sustainable palm oil from reputable sources like RSPO.
- Vegan and cruelty-free: Aquatic life isn’t the only thing that suffers from the beauty industry. Animal testing is cruel, and often unnecessary. Say no to animal cruelty, and yes to more plant based ingredients.
- Ethically sourced ingredients: We don’t support dirty business practices. Fair trade ingredients, all the way!
