As oxymoronic as it might sound, consumable gifts are actually one of the best ways to show you care without buying into the mindless consumption of the holiday season.

After all, they say the way to a person’s heart is through the stomach (though gifts don’t always have to be edible to be considered consumable).

And there are plenty of clutter-free and edible gift ideas out there. We’ve rounded a list of our favorite options that will hopefully tick the box. And to suit a decent range of budgets too!

For other ideas, take a look at our other gifting guides: eco-friendly gifts, sustainable toys, stocking stuffers, and zero waste gifts.

We independently research all featured brands and we ask them to confirm their claims. In many cases we personally review recommended products. This post contains affiliate links which means we may earn a commission if you buy something. Learn more here.

Raw Chocolate Company

Price Range: £3–£110

Chocolate makes the world a happier place, just as the Raw Chocolate Company makes for happier loved ones. Especially those with dietary restrictions and sensitive stomachs, considering this brand is proudly free from dairy, soy, refined sugar, and gluten. Their range features sun-dried chocolate bars, buttons, and powders, as well as various chocolate-coated treats like almonds, ginger, and goji berries.

Chocolate in general is kid-approved, though we have a feeling their Chocolate Making Kit would be especially loved by little ones in the family.

Lifeboost

Price Range: $20–$200

Lifeboost Coffee perks up the sleepiest of holiday mornings—especially the ones when your excited kids drag you out of bed obscenely early to see what Santa brought.

They offer a huge variety of roasts, all of which feature 100% Arabica beans that are shade-grown at high altitudes for a smooth, low-acid profile, then washed with mountain spring water and dried by the sun.

There’s a little something for every kind of coffee connoisseur, from the warm, vanilla notes of their signature Highlander Grogg to the smooth, bold flavorings of their Midnight Roast, both of which have been tried and tested by our staff members and get two big caffeinated thumbs up.

My Personal Review of Lifeboost’s Midnight Coffee:

“If dark and strong coffee is your thing like it is mine, their Midnight Roast packs a bold, yet non-acidic punch. It’s my preference for the first caffeine hit of the morning and yet I love how its low acidity doesn’t aggravate our sensitive gut issues, as normal coffee often does. Not so with this stuff. In fact, that’s the whole point of Lifeboost’s coffees. Grown at high altitudes and slow-roasted using a special process renders even their lighter roasts lower in acidity than comparable roasts from other brands, I love that I can experiment with any roast of theirs knowing it won’t leave an acidic aftertaste, and is easier on my teeth and gut. After sampling, I fell so in love with this roast, I subscribed to their coffee subscription on my own and now this is my main home coffee.”

Price Range: $11–$58

Bird & Blend Tea Co‘s 100+ teas make for both practical and inexpensive gift ideas for most people. Not only are there all kinds of tea leaves and flavors to choose from, but forms as well, including loose-leaf teas, tea bags, and matcha powder—plus all the tea accessories your friend will need to make that consumable cuppa.

Some of their top-selling flavors include Gingerbread Chai, Earl Grey Crème, and Strawberry Lemonade. Or you can give a little gift every day leading up to Christmas with their Tea Advent Calendar, boasting 48 cups of surprise luxury, hand-blended teas, with two bags to enjoy each day. It’s no surprise that this best-selling consumable gift sells out each year.

Saffi Saana

Price Range: $8–$85

Nothing says olive you like premium cooking oils and vinegars from Saffi Saana. With no fillers, sweeteners, or other additives, the luxury consumable gifts are used by Michelin-star restaurants and James-Beard-awarded chefs nationwide. Their olive oils are 100% true EVOO and all vinegar contains the mother, meaning you get greater probiotic and dietary benefits.

Oh, and they use recycled wine bottles to bottle their mid-range sizes!

Their 5L bulk olive oil taps are a staple in our house, but if you’re not sure what types of oils your loved one likes, consider gifting the Michelin-Star Tasting Kit. The box comes with 6 of their most popular oils and vinegars, and a $20 gift certificate to redeem on future purchases. If you’re lucky, your recipient might even share their gratitude and invite you over to enjoy a Michelin-worthy meal.

My Personal Review of Saffi Saana’s Bulk Olive Oil Box:

“I’ve sampled a number of Saffi Saana’s oils and vinegars and love the flavor and quality of each one, but I’m especially hooked on their 5L bulk olive oil. While it is expensive to buy, trust me when I say it lasts FOREVER. I just purchased my second box after using my first one for over a year and a half. And that’s impressive considering we home-cook every single meal, which means I’m using olive oil multiple times a day.”

Rishi

Price Range: $16-$105

Rishi makes an unforgettable gift for tea lovers, offering premium, organic teas sourced from skilled growers around the world.

From bold chai to calming green tea and unique garden-direct blends, their teas come in both loose leaf and tea bags. A favorite (of ours included) is their Turmeric Ginger tea—a caffeine-free, Ayurveda-inspired blend that’s vibrant, soothing, and excellent for gut health. If that sounds a little too experimental for your loved one, fear not, as they have all the standard types of tea as well, including classic Earl Grey.

For an ongoing treat, their Tea Club subscription delivers curated teas monthly, making it easy to explore new flavors year-round.

My Personal Review of Rishi’s Genmaicha Tea:

“Even though Genmaicha tea isn’t widely known in America, Rishi’s version is one of my absolute favorites, though I do have a soft spot for Japanese food and flavor. The blend of green tea with roasted rice creates this comforting, nutty flavor, and I love the mellow warmth and subtle sweetness it brings—especially with just a touch of raw honey. If you’re tired of the same old tea routine, I highly recommend switching it up and trying this.”

Equal Exchange

Price Range: $40–$68 (sold in packs)

Equal Exchange chocolate offers rich, ethically sourced options that support fair trade practices. Their variety of bars, like the 88% cacao Extreme Dark, deliver intense, indulgent flavors that will hopefully be shared (maybe drop some hints if you’re hoping for the latter!).

Each bar is crafted with high-quality ingredients that support small farmers and sustainable cacao sourcing practices.

My Personal Review of Equal Exchange’s Chocolate Bars:

“I recently indulged in several of Equal Exchange’s chocolate bars, and while I could eat all of them in one sitting, I have to say, their 88% cacao Extreme Dark is an absolute delight! I love bold, dark chocolates, but I was really struck by the creaminess of this one, melting smoothly on my tongue. The rich cocoa flavor is perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of bitterness that doesn’t leave my mouth feeling dry or chalky. It’s not overly sweet, allowing the deep, complex flavors to shine through.”

There’s no better way to say happy beer-thday than with craft lagers, pale ales, and IPAs. Or, if your loved one isn’t much of a drinker but loves the taste of beer, they have a new Changing Tides 0.5% Lager, that’s all the flavor with a fraction of the alcohol content.
