The Very Good Bra uses materials that can be composted at the end of life (botanically circular). The brand uses no polyester thread, nylon labels, synthetic elastic, spandex/elastane or animal products. Inherently chemical free, products are either not dyed at all or GOTS dyed. Products are wrapped in recyclable, compostable tissue and shipped carbon neutral in compostable mailers. Waste is minimized with left over fabric turned into sleepwear or donated. To further reduce waste, the brand offers a Facebook buy, swap and sell group which also serves to connect old bras with worm farms. Reviews & Testing From Our Team

The Very Good Bra in Black

I have been testing the The Very Good Bra in Black, made from 100% Tencel. The fabric is silky smooth and soft, and it feels very comfortable on. The sizing guide on the website was spot on as my careful measurements resulted in the right fit for me. The straps are adjustable much like a traditional bra and adjusting these has helped me further perfect the fit - I found I needed to make them quite a bit tighter. The back straps have 3 fasteners, feeling more secure than my other similar bras without cutting in. The bra does not have any padding and the multi-layers provide a natural rounded look. Overall, I'm very happy with this bra and decidedly excited to compost it at the end of its life to watch that magic in action!

The Very Good Undies in Black

I have been testing The Very Good Undies in black, also made from 100% Tencel. Much like the bra, the fabric stands out as silky smooth and comfortable on. These undies are boy-leg briefs so sit a bit lower and have a higher cut at the back. They contain no spandex so while they do have quite a bit of give, they aren't super stretchy. The natural rubber elastic sits well, given the accurate sizing and does not cut in. I typically prefer full briefs so the higher cut at the back takes a bit of getting use to, but I've been surprised at how well they've stayed in place. Much like the bra, I am thrilled by their total lack of toxicity in a sensitive area and am beyond excited to try composting them one day when they come to their end.
