About Pact

Pact was founded in 2009 by Jeff Denby and Jason Kibbey with the goal of creating a line of organic cotton clothing that prioritizes sustainability and ethical production. The brand initially launched with organic cotton underwear and has since expanded its offerings to include t-shirts, leggings, dresses, sleepwear, and other wardrobe essentials, along with a range of organic cotton bedding.

In 2011, Pact was acquired by Revelry Brands, a Boulder-based investment firm specializing in growth-stage consumer products and natural foods. The acquisition enabled the brand to scale operations and expand its reach, including partnerships with major retailers such as Target.

Rating Summary

Nature & Animals

Pact primarily uses GOTS-certified organic cotton across its product range. Most items are made from pure organic cotton, though some include small amounts of elastane for stretch and fit. Their sock range includes 20% recycled nylon. There have been reports of Pact using polyester blends in some items however at the time of writing, we could not find any items available for sale that include polyester.

The use of organic cotton inherently reduces water consumption and pollution compared to conventional cotton; however, no specific water-related targets or tracking measures are disclosed. While the use of organic cotton helps limit harm to ecosystems, there are no stated actions addressing biodiversity or deforestation impacts. Chemical use is reduced due to the prevalence of GOTS-certified materials, which certify that dyes and finishes meet strict toxicity and safety standards. However, there are no broader disclosures or tracking systems for chemical management beyond certification requirements.

Pact’s garments are shipped in carbon-neutral, FSC-certified Vela paper bags, and outer packaging consists solely of recyclable and compostable paper and cardboard.

To promote circularity, the Pact Circle resale platform awards customers 110% store credit for reselling used Pact items. The brand also partners with ThredUP to encourage secondhand resale and with The Give Back Box®, enabling customers to donate pre-loved clothing to nonprofits.

Pact measures the carbon footprint of its products and offsets those emissions through verified carbon offset projects via SimpliZero, a Green Story initiative. Through this partnership, Pact finances reforestation, renewable energy, and community-based projects to balance out the estimated emissions generated by its products. However, the company has not disclosed its full carbon footprint, reduction targets, energy efficiency policies, or waste reduction strategies.

Pact’s product range excludes animal-derived materials.

Communities & Wellbeing

Most of Pact’s products are made in Fair Trade Certified™ and GOTS-certified factories in India, where the brand sources its cotton. Each product page shares the number of people employed at the factory. Pact states that all clothing is “manufactured in safe facilities and is always sweatshop-free and child labor-free.” A Supplier Code of Conduct and further details about supply chain oversight have not been publicly disclosed.

While Fair Trade certification supports safe working conditions and fair wages, no disclosure has been made on broader employment practices or company culture. It has no publicly available policies on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I).

On the product side, the use of GOTS-certified organic cotton ensures items are manufactured to high health and safety standards. Reasonable privacy and digital protections are also in place for customers.

Product Performance

Customer feedback for Pact is largely very positive, both on its own website and on external platforms such as Trustpilot. Many reviewers praise the comfort, softness, and fit of the brand’s organic cotton clothing, often highlighting the breathable fabric and everyday wearability.

A small number of customers have noted a decline in quality in recent collections, mentioning that newer items sometimes feel thinner, wear out faster, or show inconsistent stitching. While these reports indicate some variability in manufacturing, Sustainable Jungle’s own testing has found the garments to be of generally durable and well-made quality. We’ve been testing Pact clothing (including underwear, bralettes, leggings, a jumpsuit, bedding, and towels) for several years, and aside from one towel (out of a pack of five) fraying along one edge, all items remain in excellent condition. The newer products we’ve been testing for a shorter period have so far performed well; they’re comfortable, functional, and a good fit, though we’ll continue monitoring their long-term durability.

Reviews & Testing From Our Team

Coastal Double Gauze Poet Sleeve Dress

This dress is a beauty, casual but elegant, and very comfortable. It’s lightweight, breezy and can be dressed up or down, making it quite versatile. I’m not much of a dress person generally but am enjoying feeling feminine in this charming piece.

Everyday Shelf Bra Camisole (and other essentials)

I’ve been wearing these camisoles for a few weeks now and find them very comfortable and easy to layer under almost anything. The adjustable straps are practical, and the length is ideal for tucking into bottoms. I’ve also been testing other basics, including a cotton T-shirt, underwear, and a tank top—all of which are performing well so far: soft, comfortable, and easy to wear or pair with other pieces.
