Aram Terry is an entrepreneur and the Co-founder of MasayaCo, a regenerative furniture company that combines reforestation, artisan craftsmanship, and circular design.
Originally from the U.S., Aram first traveled to Nicaragua in 2002 as a Peace Corps volunteer. It was during this time—while witnessing the ecological and social impacts of destructive forestry practices—that he envisioned a better way forward. In 2007, Aram co-founded Maderas Sostenibles, a company focused on reforestation and salvaging hurricane-damaged hardwoods. That vision evolved into a vertically integrated ecosystem that now includes MasayaCo, Masaya Teak, and Masaya Homes.
Together with his wife, Nicaraguan designer and artisan Abril Zepeda, Aram launched MasayaCo to bring their “Seed to Seat” model to life—creating heirloom-quality furniture from trees they plant, harvest, and process themselves on previously deforested land. Today, Aram continues to champion business as a tool for environmental regeneration and economic empowerment.
