Rating Summary

Nature & Animals

Young Eden’s house line is made entirely from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, sourced through Hae Now from Chetna Organic, a Fairtrade and GOTS-certified farmer cooperative in India. Around 71% of the garments are left undyed, with any colour coming from a low-impact reactive dye or GOTS-approved water-based inks, and no chlorine bleach is used.

Orders shipped from the brand’s own warehouse use EcoEnclose mailers made from 100% recycled, RCS-certified content.

The house line uses no animal-derived materials, and because the garments are 100% organic cotton with no synthetic blends they are compostable at end of life.

Choosing organic cotton over synthetic fibres also gives the products a lower carbon footprint.

As a small, owner-run business, Young Eden has not yet disclosed its own water, energy or waste tracking, and the finished garments are not GOTS-certified through the full manufacturing chain.

Score for Nature & Animals: 53%. Learn more about our scoring.

Communities & Wellbeing

The business is run solely by its two founders with no employees.

The house line is produced through a Fairtrade-certified cooperative, Chetna Organic, which represents more than 30,000 farmers in India, and the supplier is named and traceable.

The brand is woman-owned, and its marketing features a wide and inclusive range of models across the products it carries.

Its products are non-toxic and made from GOTS organic cotton that is hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin, and the website operates on a platform providing reasonable data protection.

Young Eden’s core model also supports many small and up-and-coming brands, a number of which are woman-owned.

Score for Communities & Wellbeing: 80%. Learn more about our scoring.

Values & Governance

Young Eden is an extra-small, woman-owned and independently run business with no parent company.

It shares its sustainability approach across its website, including pages on its mission, organic cotton and sourcing partners, though it does not yet produce formal or regular sustainability reporting.

Its marketing claims are specific and supported by third-party sources, with no history of greenwashing.

The brand also funds the planting of one tree for every item sold, through a reforestation project in Kenya, and makes small donations to local schools and community organisations.

Score for Values & Governance: 58%. Learn more about our scoring.

Product Performance

Customer reviews on the brand’s house-line products are consistently five stars, with parents describing the clothes as soft and well made and no complaints about how the products perform or wash.

Review volume is still small, but organic cotton basics of this quality generally perform as well as, or better than, conventional alternatives.
