Rating Summary

Nature & Animals

Omba’s furniture is made exclusively from solid FSC-certified North American hardwoods (red oak, white oak, and walnut) sourced from responsibly managed forests across the U.S. and Canada. Each piece is finished with Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil, which is GREENGUARD Gold certified, contains 0% VOCs, and meets food-contact compliance standards.

The production process is inherently low in water and chemical use. FSC certification ensures responsible forest management; however, the brand has no additional policies or actions addressing biodiversity protection.

Packaging is plastic-free, using recyclable cardboard boxes, compostable starch foam, and water-activated kraft tape. Waste is minimized by reusing offcuts as customer samples and refinishing or repurposing returned or damaged pieces. Given the use of wood and the non-toxic finish, all products are mostly compostable and biodegradable (excluding any metal screws/brackets) at end of life, though end of life guidance is not actively communicated to customers.

Omba’s workshop operates with LED lighting, though no further energy efficiency measures or emissions targets are currently disclosed.
