Is this your brand? Our process is explained below.
Axiology was founded by Ericka Rodriguez, who set out to make a vegan, natural lip colour she could not find elsewhere.
The brand makes plastic-free, multi-use makeup by hand in the United States, and its boxes are hand-made from reclaimed island trash by a women’s cooperative in Bali.
In 2022 it removed all plastic from its line.

These notes summarise what Axiology publishes about its own practices. Verified accreditations were checked against the issuing bodies' public registries. Everything else is the brand's disclosure, reported here rather than independently verified.
This initial rating was assessed on 9 July 2026 from public information, using axiologybeauty.com and independent product reviews. Initial ratings apply our standard 22-criteria methodology to published evidence only.
Brands typically score higher in a full rating because they can evidence more. Learn more about our scoring.
Is this your brand?
This initial rating is based on information that Axiology has made public. Our full rating lets brands evidence more and generally receive a higher rating. For Axiology, that could include Leaping Bunny or PETA certification, a climate footprint or offset disclosure, organic-ingredient certification, a supplier code of conduct for its cooperative, and a regular impact report.
A full rating also unlocks your brand’s tier badge here and in every guide that features you. It also includes a badge licence for your own site. There is a fee for a full rating. The process takes a couple of weeks and about two hours of your team’s time.
"The whole process was authentic and I felt that you held me accountable for our claims."
