Vintage with a focus on lasting craftmanship, great fabrics and detailing, from London's specialist vintage clothes alterations and repairs studio.

I am Nanna and just over a decade ago I set up Splendid Stitches to provide alterations and repairs to vintage garments, an idea coming from my own love of vintage which I've worn and collected since my teenage years in the 1990s.

Since then I and my team of seamstresses have rescued thousands of vintage garments from our central London studio.

In that time we've learnt a lot about what constitutes a quality piece of clothing, and are bringing that knowledge to the collection of items for sale here. Many come from a private collection and all profits from sale of those items will go to charity.

I believe vintage is the ultimate sustainable choice when it comes to fashion and am an advocate for quality, everyday wearable vintage in lasting fabrics, and making sure the clothes look good on people, via alterations and remodelling to enhance the individual.

Sizing details

I will provide label sizing where available, but as sizing has changed over the years and is unreliable I provide measurements too.
I measure all items lying flat in inches and cms and usually supply pit to pit, length and waist, plus whatever else is relevant to the item. PLEASE CHECK MEASUREMENTS against your own or an item you already own and ask if you want other/more measurements.

How do you ship?

I send all items with Royal Mail 2nd class recorded delivery and will usually send within 2 working days.
If the item is heavy or bulky (eg some winter costs and large evening gowns) it will be sent with MyHermes courier and will be 2-3 working days.
If you prefer a different shipping method, please message me.
