Great System for Car Camping

Let me start by saying you must you an insulated sleeping pad to stay warm with this bag. So many times there are negative reviews of this and similar products by people using an uninsulated pad. The King Solomon is super plush and a very high quality bag with down to keep you warm and compresses nicely making it also useful for backpacking. I went with the 35F for warm weather camping and use my BA Sidewinder down bag to pair up if I am in colder climates. The only issue is you are limited slightly by the size of your double pad or use of two sleeping pads. This is mostly like because the manufacture wanted to keep the size and weight down so you can pack it up smaller. BA recommends a 6 ft or under sleeper and a 72x40" sleeping pad so the extra wide pads and taller folks may be better suited for Dream Island (synthetic) or Camp Robber Bed Roll (Downtek). Overall, this is another great product from Big Agnes.

Misleading product description
This product is a top down-filled layer with a single layer of fabric on the bottom. It is not a sleeping bag, which has insulation top and bottom. Rather it is a quilt with a provision to attach to a double-wide sleeping pad. The lack of down insulation along the sides on the bottom leads to heat loss even with a pad. If you want a down quilt this product in marginally adequate. For serious outdoor 3-season use you will appreciate the construction of a true sleeping bag.
